Love Actually Is….

What actually is love? There are various meaning and definitions to love, yet in simple it can be described as passionate affection towards another person. As there is a scientific explanation to each and everything that revolves around us, there sure is a scientific definition to love as well. After a recent study, the scientists believe that love is a kind of temporary insanity driven by hormones. Further they believe that love can be categorized into – lust, romance and attachment.

Let’s keep the scientific theory away for a while and look in to the real life situations of these three categories of love. Lust is all about sex. The growing desire to lay that voluptuous woman you see on the road. She doesn’t exist in your brain the moment you lose her from your sight, yet your desire to have her craves more and more till you lay her. Romance is something more powerful than a craving sexual desire. It’s something which is difficult to control. You are in this situation when you can’t stop thinking of that special someone. Her absence makes your days and nights gloomy and dark. And when you feel that she’s the reason to all your happiness and life. Lastly attachment is the protection you feel with that someone, mainly in a long term relationship. They may not act like recently engaged love birds, but they have a sense of security and unity within them.

You may have often heard that love is blind. Some tend to say that it’s bullshit. Actually it really is blind. It has been proved that when we are in love certain areas of our brain are deactivated; like areas linked with negative emotions, critical social assessment, evaluation of trustworthiness, fear etc. When you are too much into him / her you just don’t tend to believe he / she has any flaws – yes flawless! However, when this relationship gets stronger and longer, your brain function is fully restored. Guys, this is why your girl starts to complain that you don’t give her time, you don’t love her the way you did before and all. This is when that magical mist is lift above your head; you started to feel that she also has flaws like you or like every other human. However, don’t dismay that lucidity has ruined that spark. The best relationship is the one in which you accept each others flaw and create a lasting attachment out of that romance. You never know, even in this stage of attachment you will come across a lot of peak romantic love.

Lastly I would want to ask you whether you have been ever rejected in love. How does it feel? Does love hurts? It surely does. You get so depressed you feel like you never met her. You are intensely in love yet you are in so much of physical and psychological pain. You are so obsessed about this person. You try to control your anger. You want to forget her yet she is inscribed within your heart, till death.

No matter perceptions differ from one another about love; love it self is a mystery and one never knows why people fall in love.
